As we observe Gun Violence Awareness Month this June, it is crucial to shift our focus from merely acknowledging the issue to actively seeking and implementing solutions. The "Hope After Fire" Gun Violence Prevention Awareness Event, which takes place on Sunday, June 21st as part of the Lowcountry Juneteenth celebration, embodies this transformative approach.
In today's world, gun violence has become a global epidemic, affecting countless lives and communities. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, our event is designed not just to gather and raise awareness, but to provide tangible solutions aimed at ending gun violence. We believe in a holistic approach that supports the entire family, offering services and resources that can make a real difference and move the needle in a positive direction.
Our theme, "One Team One Fight," underscores the unity and collaboration required to tackle this complex issue. On June 21st, we will come together to restore hope within our communities. This event is not just a one-day affair, it marks the beginning of ongoing support and sustained efforts to provide families with the tools they need to heal and thrive. Join us on Sunday, June 21st @2401 Mall Drive, N. Charleston S.C. "Hope After Fire" Event to be a part of this vital movement. Middleton Family Foundation Community Day 2024
End of Summer Community Day: A Day of Fun, Learning, and Giving Back!
Every 1 Voice Matters and A Second Chance Resource Center were thrilled to team up with The Middleton Family Foundation and NBA star Khris Middleton for an unforgettable End-of-Summer Community Day! This special family event brought our community together for a day of fun and giving back.
The Middleton Family Foundation generously provided free food, exciting games, and activities for the children, including a game truck, jump castles, skating, and more. To make the day even more memorable, they also sponsored 200 Nike gift cards, ensuring our kids step into the new school year with brand-new sneakers!
Throughout the summer, our camp attendees enjoyed a variety of enriching activities such as creative arts, golf, self-defense, and outdoor sports. But it wasn’t just about fun—our kids also had the opportunity to learn important life skills. Through engaging activities, they explored financial literacy, positive mindset development, reading, math, and much more.
This event was a true celebration of community, education, and empowerment. We’re grateful to The Middleton Family Foundation, Khris Middleton, and everyone who made this day possible. Together, we’re making a difference in the lives of our children and families!
